waiting game documents regional bus stops where, even today, network connection is limited. The series captures the architecture of these stops and their context within the countryside. In addition, digital scans are used to record materials, textures, tags and other signs of human presence. These elements are then integrated into mixed-media collages.
The images are shot with an older Canon digital camera — from a time before constant digital distraction became a part of everyday life.
The title waiting game refers to the paradoxical relationship between waiting and entertainment. In the digital age, waiting time is usually filled with quick distractions, focusing attention on screens rather than the space around us.
The bus stops shown here represent a different way of experiencing time. Signs of use, intervention, and change — whether casual, playful, destructive or creative — show that waiting here means engaging directly with the environment. Waiting becomes an action connected to the place.
